Web poll: Are quarterly results too much?

Feb. 12, 2013

It's that time of the year again, the time when tire manufacturers trading publicly release their financial results.

Coincidentally, Groupe Michelin and Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. announced their fiscal year 2012 results on the same day. They join Nokian Tyres plc and Hankook Tire Co. Ltd. on the fiscal 2012 "closure" list.

Apollo Tyres Ltd. also announced its third-quarter results.

How much do you care about the financial results of your suppliers, whether they are tire or equipment makers? That's what we want to find out.

Our latest Web poll asks the following question: "How often do you want to know about your suppliers' financial results?" The poll question is located on the right-hand side of the Modern Tire Dealer home page under "Web Poll: Sponsored by Bridgestone" (after you scroll down a little).

Here are the results from our last Web poll, which asked the question "How will the $16 trillion national debt affect your business?" The answers are as follows.

It won't: 14.9%.

It will lead to outrageous taxes: 46.3%.

It will put me out of business: 9.0%.

It will force me to learn Chinese:17.9%.

It will help me be more business savvy: 11.9%.
