Chain Store Age magazine has named Sam Forbes, president of Denver, Colo.-based Peerless Tyre Co., its Retail Entrepreneur of the Year.
Peerless is the 16th largest independent tire dealership in North America with 53 retail stores in Colorado, Wyoming, Texas, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska and South Dakota, according to Modern Tire Dealer statistics.
It recorded sales of $100.1 million in 2001.
Forbes owns 100% of the company, which sells Bridgestone, Firestone, Dean and Dunlop brand tires, plus its own Peerless line.
