TIA kicks off GTE/SEMA TPMS info sessions

Oct. 25, 2012

Tire Industry Association (TIA) members from across the U.S. chimed in with TPMS tips in a webinar titled “Tire Retailers share their TPMS secrets to success.” The webinar, which is part of TIA’s Business Management Webinar Series, took place on Oct. 24, 2012.

The webinar is TIA’s kick-off of information sessions examining best practices of TPMS by TIA in preparation of the Global Tire Expo – Powered by TIA, part of the 2012 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show taking place Oct. 30-Nov. 2 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, Las Vegas, Nev.

The webinar was hosted by Joe Donehue, president of Tiremetrix LLC, and Sean MacKinnon, TIA’s director of automotive training development. It provided case studies of successful tire retailers and their secrets to managing tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS).

The webinar provided a glimpse of what TIA will address during its TPMS at 10 – TPMS Best Practices Town Hall Meeting on Oct. 30, 2012

“We will be conducting our first educational seminar and TPMS best practices will be an unprecedented gathering of industry experts,” says MacKinnon. “It is designed to give the tire retailer insight into what they should be doing every time a vehicle’s TPMS enters their service station.”

MacKinnon says that what TIA hopes to get from the event is questions, best practices and what needs to happen every time a vehicle enters a tire dealer's work area.

"With everything that’s being said out there, we feel that bringing all of these individuals together to speak in one voice can do nothing but benefit the industry,” he says.

Tiremetrix LLC, in partnership with TIA, has developed the tire industry’s leading resource for TPMS parts and service and troubleshooting information, TPMS Manager “Powered by TIA.”
