Fire destroys Oregon Les Schwab Tire Center

A St. Helens, Ore., Les Schwab Tire Center suffered extensive fire and water damage from a fire that broke out Aug. 24, 2012, during business hours. All customers and employees were safely evacuated and there were no injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. The company says the fire began outside the store and then spread to the interior and was contained after two hours.

“Les Schwab is committed to serving customers in this community,” the company said in a statement. “It is our intention to set up a temporary location and to rebuild in the near future. We have set up a hotline at the Scappoose store to respond to customer inquiries. The number is: (503) 543-3675.”

Les Schwab Tire Centers (www.lesschwab.com) is number three on the Modern Tire Dealer 2012 Top 100 Tire Dealer Chains in the U.S. The company has 434 locations throughout Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, California, Nevada, Utah and coming soon to Colorado.
