Blue Seal: ASE honors Virginia Tire & Auto

May 1, 2012

Virginia Tire & Auto's Chantilly, Va., location recently received Blue Seal of Excellence recognition from the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE).

To qualify for Blue Seal of Excellence recognition, 75% of the auto repair facility’s technicians must be ASE-certified.

“We strive to provide world-class customer service at our 11 locations, and as a result we have many customers who have relied on our technicians’ commitment to excellence and experience for many years," says Vice President Julie Holmes. "Our Chantilly facility (13909 Metrotech Dr.) will proudly display this achievement.”

Only 1,400 shops in the United States have qualified for the Blue Seal of Excellence program, and of those, only 30 such auto repair facilities are located in Virginia.

Chantilly is Virginia Tire & Auto’s second location to be certified under the Blue Seal of Excellence program. The dealership's Gainesville, Va., location (7471 Linton Hall Rd.) is also included in this elite group.

Company-wide, Virginia Tire & Auto employees hold more than 235 individual ASE certifications, including:

* engine repair,

* automatic transmission,

* manual drive train and axels,

* suspension and steering,

* brakes,

* electronic systems,

* heating and air conditioning, and

* engine performance.

“The ASE certification program is a win-win for all," says Denise Yingling, manager of the Blue Seal of Excellence Recognition Program. "Vehicle owners can rely on ASE-certified technicians who have proven themselves to be knowledgeable professionals; repair shops can get additional visibility in their markets by qualifying for the Blue Seal of Excellence Recognition program; and certified auto professionals can showcase their ASE certifications.”

There are more than 350,000 professionals who hold ASE certifications. They must be re-tested every five years to maintain ASE and Master certification.
