Hankook Tire America Corp. reports the company’s enfren eco eco-friendly all-season performance tire has received the highest rating certified by the Korea Energy Management Corp. (KEMCO) for Energy Efficiency Grade for Tires (based on its rolling resistance) — the first-ever achievement for any tire in Korea.
The enfren eco, officially launched in the U.S. last November at the 2011 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show, was designed for fuel-efficient and hybrid vehicles and features a high silica rubber tread compound which lowers rolling resistance, increases wet and dry handling and helps to improve fuel economy.
It will be available in the U.S. in eight sizes: 185/65R15H, 195/60R15H, 195/65R15H, 215/60R16H, 205/55R16H, 195/55R16V, 215/45R17V and 205/65R16H by the second quarter of this year.
