Belle Tire Offers Cash Incentives for Vaccines to Workers

March 3, 2021

Belle Tire Distributors Inc. will offer cash incentives to its 2,300 employees who choose to get vaccinated against COVID-19.

As the 11th largest independent tire dealer in the U.S. with 127 retail locations in Michigan, Indiana and Ohio, Belle says it will pay employees $25 per vaccine visit.

In a MTD exclusive, here's another take on how tire dealers are managing the COVID-19 vaccines:

McCarthy Tire Service Tells Employees Getting the Vaccine Is 'the Right Thing to Do'

“Our employees have been working in our stores throughout this pandemic to help our customers keep their tires in good condition and vehicles on the road so that they could get the food, medication, supplies and medical treatment they need,” says Don Barnes III, president of Belle Tire. “That’s why we want to encourage all of our employees to get vaccinated and protect themselves.”

The company isn't mandating vaccines, but instead offering the incentive to employees who choose to get vaccinated against COVID-19. Employees can choose where to get the immunization, and will need to show their vaccination card to their managers to receive the incentive.

“For nearly a century, Belle Tire has been committed to doing what’s right for our employees, their families and our customers,” says Barnes. “By providing employees with a monetary incentive for each vaccine visit, we are ensuring they don’t have to choose between earning a living and getting this vital vaccine. It’s just one more way for us to take care of our team.”
