Giti Prioritizes Sustainable Natural Rubber

Sept. 24, 2021

Giti Tire Group has joined the GPSNR (Global Platform for Sustainable Natural Rubber), an international group created in 2019 focused on the ethical and sustainable use of the world's natural rubber.

Approximately 13.8 million tons of natural rubber was produced in 2019 with Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand being the top producers. Prior to the establishment of GPSNR in March 2019, there were few projects that focused on the safe management of natural rubber around the world.

The GPSNR  is spearheaded by the Tire Industry Project, a forum led by CEOs in the tire industry.

Giti says the “company has a longstanding commitment to environmental sustainability worldwide. We are very pleased to become a member of GPSNR and look forward to contributing to the organization’s critical mission of ensuring a sustainable, ethically-produced natural rubber supply for the future.”
