Hunter Goes ‘All-In’ on Commercial Tire Service

Nov. 4, 2021

“We’re all-in” on equipment for commercial tire service, says Pete Liebetreu, Hunter Engineering Co.’s vice president of marketing. Hunter is displaying its new Quick Check Commercial alignment and tread inspection system at this week’s Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas.

The system - which is prominently featured in Hunter’s SEMA Show booth (#43017) at the Las Vegas Convention Center - “offers an instant and effortless health check on two of the most important safety and economic considerations for commercial vehicles: tires and alignment,” say company officials.

Quick Check Commercial consists of two Hunter inspection procedures. Heavy-Duty Quick Check Drive provides touchless alignment results, while Quick Check Heavy rapidly and accurately measures tire tread depth.

“Since the unmanned system requires nothing more than driving the vehicle between two towers, trucks can be cycled through continuously, without operator time and labor, providing clear and actionable data affecting fuel economy and tire life.”

Captured data can be easily shared with customers, “creating transparency and boosting alignment and tire replacement opportunities,” according to Hunter officials.

Hunter’s Quick Check Commercial system supports multi-trailer configurations, dual axles and wide-base tires, and can accommodate full-size and medium-duty trucks.

“We have probably doubled the number of SKUs we have for heavy-duty over the last six months,” Liebetreu says.

This data can be easily shared with customers, creating transparency and boosting alignment and tire replacement opportunities for heavy-duty service facilities. In turn, fleet managers can dramatically increase their profit per mile through extended tire life and greater fuel efficiency.
