Plane reportedly slams into former Pirelli building in Italy

April 18, 2002

An airplane crashed into a skyscraper that once housed Pirelli SpA's main offices, according to reports.

The Milan, Italy, building served as Pirelli headquarters until 1978, when it was sold to the government of Lombardia, the region where Milan is located.

"The building still retains the Pirelli name, but there are no Pirelli offices (there)," says a top Pirelli official.
