Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. has named James Piper as the director, Advanced Technology in the technical group.
Piper will oversee the newly formed Advanced Technology area which is responsible for generating new shelf technology for use in Cooper Tires. This change is a part of the technical group effectiveness reorganization, the company notes.
Piper is a 34-year Cooper veteran, and most recently served as director, technical services, since 2001. He also has held management positions in materials development and compound development. He spent 15 years serving as a chemist in both the Findlay plant and in materials development.
