SEMA Show, Day One: Hennessy displays new products

Nov. 2, 2010

Hennessy Industries is displaying a "revolutionary concept machine," among other products, at this week's Global Tire Expo -- Powered by TIA/Specialty Equipment Market Association Show.

The machine "has been an exercise in product and process development," says Kevin Keefe, Hennessy's vice president of marketing.

"It's fairly revolutionary in its approach to mounting and demounting tires and wheels. It looks nothing like (anything) the industry has ever seen."

Hennessy officials are giving live demonstrations of the machine every 30 minutes. The new device is one of many products that the company is promoting this week. Among them are:

* the Coats 1250-3DV direct drive balancer, which comes with a commercial-grade LCD flat screen display. Other features include 3-D Data Auto Entry, which takes measurements with the swipe of an arm, and a 1.5 HP direct drive motor for enhanced speed and long-term performance.

* the Coats ProGuard Leverless Tire Changer, which reduces the risk of damage associated with changing over-sized, low-profile and run-flat tires. The changer features a leverless power duckhead, which eliminates the need for traditional tire tools that can damage a rim's surafce; a protective pedestal and center lock design; a bead-loosener disc and tower with easy-to-use controls; and more.

Hennessy also is displaying its full line of BADA steel wheel weights, including three recently launched Tape-A-Weight products.

In addition, Hennessy is promoting its new "Search for the Oldest Coats Direct Drive Balancer" during the show. The contest gives entrants a chance to win a free trip for two to Las Vegas, plus a new 1250-3DV balancer.
