Bosch hires Sills, realigns sales division

April 16, 2010

Robert Bosch LLC recently hired Dan Sills as vice president of independent aftermarket sales.

Sills brings 15 years of sales and marketing experience to his new role: He is responsible for the company's "Independent Aftermarket" sales force in the United States. He is located at Bosch's Broadview, Ill., office, and reports directly to Odd Joergenrud, regional president for the Automotive Aftermarket Division in North America.

The Independent Aftermarket sales organization was realigned on April 1. The purpose, according to Bosch, was to:

* provide the most intimate customer relationships;

* integrate and leverage recent Bosch acquisitions; and

* create a stronger, more unified footprint among automotive repair specialists, with an emphasis on providing product and technical training.

The new Independent Aftermarket sales force is composed of teams assigned by sales channel. Each team includes sales specialists in all auto parts categories -- including braking and filtration -- as well as diagnostic and wheel service equipment specialists.

Three teams are servicing national retail and mass merchandise customers. Two teams are focusing on program distribution groups and independent warehouse distributors.

There will be one team each dedicated to specialty customers (including tire chains and "tune and lube" outlets); special projects and brake products; and heavy duty and diesel customers.

In North America, the Bosch Group manufactures and markets automotive original equipment and aftermarket products; industrial drives and control technology; power tools; security and packaging technology; thermotechnology; household appliances; solar energy; and healthcare products.
