DSP forms new tire retailer 20 group

March 4, 2010

Dealer Strategic Planning Inc. (DSP) has formed another tire retailer 20 group, which will hold its first meeting next week, March 8-10, in Raleigh, N.C.

The group is composed of independent tire dealers from non-competing markets. The meeting will be hosted by Anthony Blackman, owner of Atlantic Tire & Service in Cary, N.C.

DSP 20 groups strive to help members improve their bottom line profits via peer learning, the sharing of best practices, benchmarking and providing access to tire industry experts. Each month, dealers receive a detailed financial analysis, which helps them track their performance against 20 group peers, as well as the industry in general, say DSP officials.

"The 20 groups meet three times a year for two-and-a-half days of intense business discussions. Financial analysis and guidance is provided by Norm Gaither, a well-known consultant in the tire industry and automotive aftermarket." Gaither also is a co-founder of DSP.

After the initial meeting of the new group, subsequent meetings will be held with the date and place determined by its members. Meeting agendas and topics also are decided by dealers.
