GM concept cars sport Bridgestone tires

Jan. 21, 2010

Two new General Motors concept vehicles displayed at the North American International Auto Show sport Bridgestone tires.

The GMC Granite -- a small, four-door crossover vehicle -- is outfitted with size 245/40R20 Bridgestone Dueler tires, while the Cadillac XTS has been shod with size 245/40R20 Bridgestone Potenza tires.

The Cadilac XTS is a premium luxury sedan that will replace the Cadillac DTS and STS models.

"Conceptual programs allow our designers to extend beyond the boundaries of contemporary thinking and express our brand as it related to a specific vehicle in a dynamic new way," says Michael Martini, president of consumer OE tire sales, Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations LLC.

Martini adds that GM chose to work with Bridgestone on the vehicles "due to past conceptual program collaborations."

Bridgestone also boasts Bridgestone and Firestone brand tire fitments on several GM vehicles that are currently produced.
