Wegmann automotive USA Inc., a wheel balance weight OEM supplier in North America, has received the General Motors 2014 Supplier Quality Excellence Award.
Wegmann automotive is the parent company of the Hofmann Power Weight and Perfect Equipment wheel weight brands.
This is the third year for the company to be honored by General Motors Corp., which began presenting the award three years ago to its top performing manufacturers.
“We are extremely pleased that we have continually been recognized as a strong, reliable and innovative business partner for GM. We will continue to deliver value to them as a top supplier totheir global organization,” says Jeff Waechter, CEO and president.
The company says the Supplier Quality Excellence Award is only presented to the top manufacturers that meet GM’s strict quality criteria. Manufacturers are evaluated on more than 12 criteria including the timely delivery of high-quality products, smooth production processes and innovative strength.
Eligible candidates must also have quality systems in accordance with standards such as IS0/TS16949 in place.
