Bridgestone Americas Inc. and the United Steelworkers have reached a tentative agreement covering Bridgestone plants in Bloomington, Ill.; Des Moines, Iowa; Warren County, Tenn.; LaVergne, Tenn.; Akron, Ohio; and Russellville, Ark.
The agreement, if ratified, "will ensure thousands of (Bridgestone) U.S. teammates in five states maintain good-paying jobs and strengthen the global competitiveness of the company's U.S. manufacturing facilities," according to a statement from Bridgestone.
Bridgestone recently announced that it will manufacture racing tires at a new facility in Akron.
