The Mitas EX-01 tire is the brand's first radial tire for wheeled excavators, and it features the non-directional EX-01 tread pattern and reinforced sidewalls specifically for dual mounting systems.
“Dual mounted tires are often damaged by stone ingress. To date, construction machinery manufacturers have protected the tires with rubber rings," says Jaroslav Musil, Mitas product manager for material handling and construction tires. "However, on the EX-01 tire, we’ve solved the problem with a reinforced sidewall that ensures close contact between the tires, preventing damage."
This Mitas EX-01 is designed not only for paved roads but also for crushed stone or gravel terrains, which place extra demands on tires. The tire's all-steel construction provides greater stability plus high puncture resistance.
Mitas says the tire's radial construction, used for the first time on a Mitas excavator tire, increases the tire’s lifespan while providing the operator with a comfortable ride and improved fuel economy. The shaped shoulder of the EX-01 tread provides grip on soft surfaces, while the thicker central tread improves stability and ensures smooth running on hard surfaces.
“Mitas is committed to providing great tires for excavators, something further confirmed by this new tire. We believe that the radial construction of the EX-01 will prove successful in this segment and convince users of the advantages of radial tires in these demanding conditions,” Musil says.
The EX-01 is available size 315/80R22.5 EX-01. It joins the Mitas lineup with 15 other sizes of diagonal tires for excavators with five different tread patterns: EM-22, EM-23, NB 38, NB 38 Extra ML and TI-12.
