Ryder System Inc. is now in the emergency roadside tire service business via its acquisition of Pit Stop Fleet Service.
Based in Venice, Fla., Pit Stop offers roadside truck tire replacement, plus battery replacement and other services.
The transaction, which closed on Aug. 1., is expected to add $24 million in revenue to the trucking company's Torque by Ryder business in 2025.
The deal extends Ryder's mobile maintenance services to 140 markets throughout 20 states.
Ryder has plans to extend services to additional states later this year.
