American Tire Distributors Inc. (ATD) has added four new tires added to the Ironman I-Series Gen 2 line.
The new tires round out the I-Series Gen 2 line and are designed to meet the demands of the current trucking industry, say ATD officials. They also feature an improved warranty for up to six years.
The tires being added to the I-Series Gen 2 portfolio include the I-31M, I-42W, I-28D; and the I-52A. These join the I-19A, I-37D, I-48T and I-61S, all of which were introduced in August 2023.
“Ironman I-Series Gen 2 tires are designed to maximize customer satisfaction and minimize returns,” says Marshall Gillespie, director, of proprietary brand commercial merchandising for Ironman Tires.
“The I-Series Gen 2 truck tire lineup marks a significant upgrade that represents the culmination of years of research and development that delivers confident performance and value to our customers.”
The I-28D is a regional and long-haul drive tire with deeper 28/32 tread depth and wider contact patch to improve traction and enhance vehicle stability. It also features zig-zag sipes for traction in all weather conditions and solid, closed shoulders for long-haul and regional driving.
The I-31M is an all-position tire for rugged on and off-highway use. The tire features 22/32 tread depth and a heat-resistant compound for increased mileage. It also includes stone ejectors to protect the casing and a curb guard in the sidewall.
The I-42W is a wide-base, all-position tire for heavy loads, both on- and off-highway. The tire features deep treads, a broad width and large block patterns for increased mileage in mixed-service applications. It also features a semi-open shoulder design to enhance drainage in off-road situations.
Lastly, the I-52A steer and all-position tire is for high-scrub regional environments. The tire is engineered to endure the demands of stop-and-start regional routes with increased fuel economy and deep 22/32 tread depth.
