There’s a new world player when it comes to making products for the U.S. passenger tire segment: Cambodia.
“The nation went from relative obscurity to the top 10 charts in 2023,” MTD Managing Editor Joy Kopcha writes in MTD’s 2024 Facts Issue.
“Trade data shows that Cambodia shipped almost as many light truck tires to the U.S. by May of 2023 than it had in all 2022,” says Kopcha.
“By year’s end, Cambodia had sent more than 4.8 million passenger tires to the U.S., in addition to around 1.7 million light truck tires.”

MTD’s 2024 Facts Issue features import shipments in three product categories: passenger tires, consumer tires and commercial medium truck tires – starting in 2023 and going back 10 years.
