Coast Tire to Merge with Andy’s Tire Group

Feb. 12, 2024

Saint John, New Brunswick-based Coast Tire & Auto Service will merge with Andy’s Tire Group on March 1.

Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Both dealerships operate throughout the Maritimes provinces of Canada.

Established three decades ago, Coast Tire has 26 commercial and consumer tire locations, as well as a retreading plant, while Andy’s Tire has 20 stores, three distribution centers and two retreading plants.

Andy’s Tire, which has been in business for more than 70 years, operates under a variety of banners, including Andy's Tire Shop, Scotia Tire Service, A‐1 Tires, Miller Tirecraft and Fleet Retreading.

In a statement provided to MTD, the companies said that the merger “represents two industry leaders united by the common goal of providing exceptional service and expertise throughout Atlantic Canada.

“This collective next step reflects both companies' continued dedication to their strong regional roots and their plan for expansion and enhanced service delivery.”

"We are thrilled to bring together these storied companies,” says Andrew Pye, who will be CEO of the combined businesses.

"This merger is more than a business decision. It’s a strategic move to create the best commercial tire and automotive service network across Atlantic Canada.

"Our combined resources, expertise and commitment to the Atlantic community will allow us to serve our customers even better,” he adds.

The companies state they intend “to ensure that business operations continue smoothly without any disruption to the supply chain or service delivery.”

In February 2022, Coast became 100% independently owned after acquiring 49% of its shares from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.
