Former Texas Tire & Automotive Association (TTTA) president Don Williams died at age 86 last week.

He served as TTAA president from 1997 to 1998.

Williams started his career in the restaurant business but got established in the tire industry in 1973, when he opened Williams Tire Store in Coleman, Texas.

He used his business to serve the greater community and eventually expanded into other areas of Texas, including San Angelo, Brady, Seguin, Brownwood and Ballinger.

TTAA awarded Williams with its business of the year distinction in 2013.

Williams was born March 29, 1935, in Santa Anna, Texas. He married Mary Alice DuBois in 1955. They have three daughters: Donna, Debbie and Leann.
