Travis Pastrana Boosts Yokohama’s ADVAN Tires

Team Yokohama member and action sports superstar Travis Pastrana partnered with the company in a Gymkhana: Aussie Shred video to promote Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd. and its latest performance tire brand.

Pastrana raced through Sydney, Australia, in a screaming Vermont SportsCar-built, 670-horsepower, turbo-boosted four-wheel drive 1978 Subaru Brat, nicknamed “The Brataroo.” The car featured Yokohama’s 18-inch premium ADVAN A052® and ADVAN Apex® tires, depending on the stunt.

Produced by Hoonigan Media Machine, the latest edition of the viral Gymkhana film franchise – and third-in-a-row for Pastrana – features jumps, head-turning stunts and famous landmarks such as Sydney Harbor, Sydney Opera House, Sydney Bridge, Bathurst’s Mount Panorama and Broken Hill, as well as shots from the Outback.

“Besides being an ultra-talented racecar driver, Travis is a magician when it comes to the unbelievable stunts he does in the Gymkhana series,” says Andrew Briggs, Yokohama Tire’s senior vice president of marketing and product management. “Each Gymkhana ups the ante, and the new edition really pushed the limit and kicks it up to another level. We’re proud he demonstrated the versatility, performance, strength and technology of our Yokohama ADVAN tires to a global audience.”

The popular Gymkhana videos were created by Pastrana’s longtime friend and former teammate, the late Ken Block. Pastrana continues the tradition and creative spirit sparked by Block, whose vision transformed a passion for driving into a global cultural phenomenon.
