Team Real Racing Finishes Second at Desert Showdown

Michael Scafuto and Team Real Racing, partnered with Falken Tires, completed their 2025 off-road racing season with another podium placement.

While running on 40-inch Falken Wildpeak Race Compound M/T01 tires, Scafuto clinched second place during the Unlimited Truck Class at Legacy Racing Association’s 2025 Desert Showdown, finishing five seconds behind competitor Rob MacCachren.

For nearly half the race, Scafuto and co-driver Kevin McGilroy appeared to be on track to win until a jagged rock caused a sidewall flat at mile 200. After losing nearly five minutes during a difficult wheel and tire change, the team accelerated to second place, missing the win by five seconds and reaching a top speed of 125.8 miles per hour.

Highlights of Scafuto’s 2025 season include placing first in the Unlimited All Wheel Drive class and finishing third overall on corrected time among all Unlimited trucks, Falken Tires officials say. Team Falken also placed first in the year-end standings of the Unlimited Race Series.
