Representatives from several independent tire dealerships will participate in the Virginia International Raceway Dunlop Drivers Cup event Sept. 18-20.

They include Tom Lemke, district manager for Evans Tire & Service in San Diego, Calif.; Ken Passerby, vice president of retail operations for Advanced Auto Service & Tire Centers, which operates in Arizona; Jim Enger, owner of Euclid, Ohio-based Enger Auto Service & Tire; Michael Orliw, sales manager for Albert Tire Co. in Pennsauken, N.J.; Rick Johnson Jr., manager at Rick Johnson Auto & Tire in Naples, Fla.; Garrett Catalano, a store manager for Discount Tire Co. in El Centro, Calif.; and Zeke Houser, a manager at Discount Tire in Amarillo, Texas.

They will join a manager from a Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.-owned Just Tires outlet in Rockford, Ill., plus 12 other amateur drivers.

"I believe we'll see the same determination and passion to compete in Virginia that drives their success in the business world," says Janice Consolacion, marketing manager for Goodyear's Dunlop brand in North America.
