The Tire Alliance Groupe Ltd. (TAG) has a new president. Paul Alves has joined TAG as its new CEO and president.
Alves, 40, replaces 65-year-old Daniel Beach, who is retiring at the end of 2008 after serving as its CEO and president since 1996. Alves formerly was employed by Yokohama Tire Corp. as the eastern zone manager, and has had an extensive business relationship with the TAG members for many years.
"We believe that Paul's leadership ability, knowledge of the industry and excellent personal relationship with TAG will bring continued growth and opportunities for our many members," says TAG Chairman Bill Caulin, who also is president of Somerset Tire Service Inc.
The group has grown from the initial 550 locations of Beach and its other five founding members to membership of more than 1,700 retail locations across the continent.
"We will look to aggressively grow our membership in strategic areas as well as continue to bring additional value to our programs," says Alves.
A 40-year industry veteran, Beach will serve as president of the Tire Industry Association in 2009.
