EMI opens goods, shipping center

Sept. 5, 2012

Eastern Manufacturing Inc. (EMI), a manufacturer of catalytic converters and related components, has just added a new 103,000-square-foot facility that will be transformed into a state-of-the-art finished goods inventory and shipping center.

This new purchase is adjacent to the existing 115,000-square-foot headquarters and manufacturing facility in Langhorne, Pa. Combined with the current building and R&D facilities, the purchase increases EMI’s overall physical size to 253,000 square feet.

“Eastern has enjoyed tremendous growth over the past few years, and this new addition could not come at a better time,” says George Schafer, EMI president. “It will put us into an excellent position to successfully and efficiently manage our growth, while meeting the individual needs of an ever expanding customer base. The new center will also free up valuable space in our current manufacturing facility and allow us to double our overall plant capacity.”

Now EMI says it can meet its customers’ catalytic converter needs with a full range of catalytic converters for universal, direct-fit, manifold, diesel, and heavy-duty applications. From its manufacturing facilities in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and the UK, EMI now provides 3,300 different catalytic converter part numbers with ‘best-in-the-industry’ coverage for over 60,000 applications on cars, light trucks, vans, and SUVs.
