American Tire Distributors Inc. (ATD) has not let its announced expansion goals for 2011 stand in the way of... further expansion.
Last year, ATD announced its expansion plans for the northeastern region of the U.S. (see "ATD targets New England for expansion in 2011").
In particular, the wholesale distributor said it was conductiing "multiple site evaluations" in New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Connecticut, eastern Pennsylvania and other New England states.
Since then, ATD has opened D/Cs in Cincinnati, Ohio; Indianapolis, Ind.; and McCook, Ill. In May, it will open a distribution center in Cleveland, Ohio. That will give the Huntersville, N.C.-based company 90 distribution centers.
