Maxam Tire North America has opened a new distribution center in Houston, Texas, that features 244,000 square feet of storage space. The facility is Maxam's third warehouse in the United States.
The company's other distribution centers are located in Memphis, Tenn., and Los Angeles, Calif.
The Houston facility's opening "marks another milestone for the company's success and growth within the industry over the past few years," according to Maxam officials.
"By locating its third warehouse in Houston," Maxam "strategically expands its efficiency in meeting customers' needs with a multi-directional logistic approach."
Derick Efird, national distribution and logistics manager for Maxam, says the new distribution center "will have one of the largest SKU assortments of any of our current warehouses, making it easier than ever for customers to receive products when they need them.
"Houston is a rapidly expanding and efficient area, with easy access to both major ports, interstates and rail systems," he adds.
Full operation is expected to start at the end of March 2023.
