Black's Tire Service Inc. is a longtime supporter of the Boys and Girls Homes of North Carolina, and the tire dealer's biggest fundraiser for the nonprofit — an annual golf tournament — raised more than $200,000 in 2023.
The Sept. 14 event, the tire dealer's 20th tournament, was held at the Myrtle Beach National Golf Course, the site of the first Black's Tire charity golf tournament in 2002.
And while that initial event raised $6,000, the 2023 edition of the tournament netted $207,404 to support the homes, which care for abused, neglected and otherwise hurting children and families in their care.
Over the years, Black's Tire Service — with the help of friends and supporters throughout the industry — has contributed nearly $2 million to the Boys and Girls Homes of North Carolina.
