Dorman Products Inc. and Motor Age Training have announced their co-sponsorship of RevUp, an automotive technician training event scheduled for Sept. 20, 2025.

The full-day event takes place at the Automotive Training Center in Warminster, Pa., and has been designed to sharpen professional technicians’ diagnostic skills and deepen an understanding of advanced vehicle repair.

Four automotive aftermarket instructors from the Dorman Training Center will guide participants through real-world scenarios, present detailed technical classes and answer questions on critical topics like air-fuel sensor testing, advanced electrical troubleshooting and techniques for diagnosing complex vehicle issues.

The RevUp sessions include:

  • Upping Your Diagnostic Skills: led by Jerry “G” Truglia, director at the Dorman Training Center, the class focuses on teaching the skills to diagnose and troubleshoot driveability issues, even when no DTCs are present.
  • Diagnosing Strategies: led by Pete Meier, training manager at Dorman Training Center, to provide training on OBD-II system diagnostics using common test equipment, covering first steps, scan tool techniques and fuel system analysis.
  • Building Your Diagnostic Worksheet: led by Ken Zanders, trainer at Dorman Training Center, which will explore the fundamentals of building a diagnostic game plan, using various testing methods and equipment to help ensure an effective troubleshooting process.
  • Driving Down the Rabbit Hole: led by Josh Weaver, trainer at Dorman Training Center, to streamline the diagnostic process with a structured eight-step sequence, helping technicians quickly establish an accurate approach from the initial test drive for efficient troubleshooting.

Michael Willins, director of business development for Motor Age Training, says the curriculum is dedicated to supporting high-level training to help technicians of all skill levels improve their repair knowledge.

“This partnership with Dorman represents more than just a collaboration,” says Willins.

“It’s a commitment to the future of the automotive repair industry. As vehicles become increasingly advanced, it’s critical that technicians have access to ongoing education and training. Staying current with emerging technologies not only enhances service quality but ensures technicians remain competitive and confident in a rapidly evolving field.”

RevUp registration is $149.95 and includes two seminars and breakfast and lunch.

“This will be a ‘must-attend’ event for any professional technician,” says Truglia.

“Vehicles continue to get more complex. So, we all need to upgrade our skill level. RevUp is a great opportunity to learn advanced diagnostics and repair techniques that will pay off in any shop. Great training doesn’t cost, it pays.”
