Sun Expands Presence in Texas

Sun Auto Tire & Service Inc. has expanded its presence in Texas with the acquisition and rebranding of Service Street Tire & Auto Repair.

Sun Auto Tire & Service also has opened a new Plaza Tire Service store in Ozark, Mo.

Service Street Tire & Auto Repair is based in Cypress, Texas, near Houston.

Chris Tavaras, Sun Auto Tire & Service's vice president of operations, says Texas and Missouri "continue to be important markets for our network.

Based in Mesa, Ariz., Sun Auto Tire & Service, which is backed by private equity firm Leonard Green & Partners, has nearly 600 locations, making it one of the biggest tire dealerships in the United States, according to MTD research.
