Sentury Recalls 6,188 Light Truck Tires

March 17, 2020

Sentury Tire Thailand is recalling 6,188 light truck tires — from seven different brands — due to a change to a two-stage manufacturing process that might have resulted in weakened sidewalls.

These are the affected tires:

Delinte DX11, size LT275/65R20, with DOT date codes 3617 through 2219;

Lionhart Lionclaw HT, size LT275/65R20, with DOT date codes 4617 through 2518;

Lexani LXHT206, size LT275/65R20 with DOT date codes 4617 through 5018;

Patriot HT, size LT275/65R20 with DOT date codes 2518 through 2618;

Landsail CLX11, size LT275/65R20 with DOT date codes 2917 through 1618;

Wild Spirit Wild Spirit HST, size LT275/65R20 with DOT date codes 4617 through 2618; and

Pantera Supertrac HT, size LT275/65R20 with DOT date codes 4717 through 2418.

According to documents Sentury filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the company conducted an internal investigation from Jan. 26-Feb. 19 to confirm the existence of a potential endurance difference in its tires. Specifically the company wanted to look at tires made before and after the company moved from a one-stage to a two-stage manufacturing process, and also made some structural design changes to the tires on June 25, 2017.

Sentury made additional design material changes on Oct. 10, 2019, and testing shows those changes contributed to increasing the tires' durability.

NHTSA says sidewall separation may lead to tire failure.

Sentury will notify owners, and dealers will replace the tires, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin by April 27, 2020. Owners may contact Sentury at 1-866-305-2750. Sentury Tire's number for this recall is 2750.
