Goodyear, NASA recreate moon tire

 Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. and NASA have produced 12 replicas of the original wire-mesh tire used on the Apollo Lunar Roving Vehicle in the early 1970s.

The tire/wheel combination contains four major components: mesh, tread, hub and inner frame.

NASA officials say the tires are being tested for traction and endurance in order to determine possible applications.
