“Everything is still moving forward as planned” at the soon-to-open Zhongce Rubber Group Co. Ltd. (ZC Rubber) plant in Mexico, says a ZC Rubber spokesperson.

"We are currently evaluating whether we can expedite the project timeline.”

ZC Rubber broke ground on the plant, which will be located in Saltillo, in August 2024. At the time, ZC Rubber officials said the factory will be up and running by the end of 2025.

The plant, located around 150 miles from the United States/Mexico border, represents an investment of $550 million. It will have an annual capacity of 13.5 million passenger tires, as well as 50,000 tons of OTR tires, and will also house a North American distribution center, ZC Rubber officials said last year.

"This will greatly benefit both the North American and Latin American markets, providing customers with more efficient and high-quality products and services."
