Nokian Tyres says its North American business "outperformed the market" during the third quarter of 2025.

Globally, Nokian posted $401 million in sales during the third quarter, up 10.8% year-over-year. The company generated segment operating profit of $37.7 million during the quarter, an increase of 6.3% over the same period in 2024.

For the first nine months of 2025, Nokian posted slightly more than $1.1 billion in global sales, an increase of 10.3% year-over-year, while achieving $46.8 million in segment operating profit, an improvement of 13.4% on a year-over-year basis.

Full-year forecast

For the full year, Nokian expects its net sales "to grow and segment operating profit as a percentage of net sales to improve compared to the previous year. Tire demand ... is expected to remain at the previous year's level in 2025."

Nokian's sales growth "is supported by increasing capacities" at the company's plants in Romania and Dayton, Tenn.

Nokian President and CEO Paolo Pompei says ramp-up of production at the firm's Romania factory "is progressing as planned. The facility is now operating 24/7, producing approximately one million tires this year.

"Looking ahead to 2025, our goal is to grow net sales and improve segment operating profit. With ongoing initiatives and a disciplined focus on execution, our team is well-positioned to deliver profitable growth."
