USW Ratifies Goodyear Contract

Members of United Steelworkers (USW) union have ratified a new master contract with Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.
The pact covers around 2,600 workers at Goodyear manufacturing facilities in Akron, Ohio; Topeka, Kan.; and Danville, Va., through April 28, 2029.
USW International Vice President Emil Ramirez, who chaired negotiations with Goodyear, says the union "negotiated a fair agreement that provides additional security for earnings without sacrificing COLA or abandoning our health care.”
Goodyear builds racing tires in Akron and aviation tires in Danville. The company's Topeka plant produces light truck and tires for commercial applications.
