Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. has closed its remaining chemical plants in Pasadena, Texas, and Niagara Falls, N.Y.

"Following the sale of the majority of its chemical business in 2025, the company has made the decision to fully exit this business to focus on its core products and services," a spokesperson from Goodyear told MTD. 

Goodyear sold its chemical business to an affiliate of Gemspring Capital Management LLC in October 2025 for $650 million.
