SEMA Show: New Venom Power UHP Tire Hits Market
The new Venom Power Covert Grip R1 ultra-high performance tire is for enthusiasts who seek "precise handling and confident grip."
"Designed for sports cars, high-performance sedans and modified vehicles, the DOT-compliant Covert Grip R1 combines an aggressive directional tread pattern with a high-grip compound for acceleration, braking and cornering performance," according to Transamerica Tire Co. Ltd. officials.
The Covert Grip R1, which is on display at the company's SEMA Show booth (#41059) in the South Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center, has a directional tread that's optimized for dry-road contact and grip, while the tire's solid center rib enhances straight-line stability and steering response.
"Large shoulder blocks support lateral grip during aggressive cornering, and the advanced high-grip compound is designed for rapid warm-up. Together, these features deliver a tire built around the demands of performance driving."
The new line includes ZR-designated sizes with size-specific W or Y speed ratings and XL (Extra Load) capabilities.
"Its DOT-compliant design allows drivers to use the same tires on the street and at track-day or autocross events. Specifications vary by size."
"Performance enthusiasts want a tire that responds to their driving style, whether they’re enjoying their favorite road or putting in laps at the track,” says Joe Davis, vice president of Venom Power. “With the Covert Grip R1, we’ve focused on the handling, responsiveness and grip that help drivers feel connected to their vehicle and confident behind the wheel.”
The 2026 SEMA Show runs through Nov. 6.
