Pirelli & Cie SpA is developing versions of its Winter Sottozero 3, Scorpion Winter and P Zero Winter tires for its Elect range for electric and hybrid vehicles.
An Elect iteration of the P Zero Winter is already available for the Porsche Taycan in 19- and 20-inch sizes.
Pirelli officials say "low rolling resistance to increase autonomy, decreased road noise for ultimate comfort, immediate grip that puts the power down for a quick getaway and a special structure designed to support the weight of a battery-powered vehicle" are key characteristics of Pirelli Elect products.
The version of the Pirelli P Zero Winter that was developed for the Taycan "delivers low rolling resistance to maximize the car's autonomy, reduced road noise to create cabin comfort and immediate grip - even with the Taycan's impressive power and low-down torque - to enhance driveability."
Pirelli launched its Elect range in 2019.
