Rice Tire expands in Maryland

May 29, 2014

Rice Tire Co. has opened its sixth store in Maryland. The eight-bay store was purchased from Montgomery Tire Service Inc. and is located in Gaithersburg.

The outlet provides mostly retail tire sales and service with some commercial offerings. The 18,000-square-foot store has seven employees and is managed by Rey Caballero.

Rice Tire President Chris Chase says the company was underrepresented in the Montgomery County market.

“Many of our customers do business there and having a location in the county will give them one more solution to getting their vehicles serviced quickly and conveniently. When we see an underserved market such as this and have an opportunity to get into it we are going to take advantage.”

Rice Tire opened its new location in April. “We added state-of-the-art alignment and balancing equipment and upgraded the fleet to be able to take care of our customers,” says Chase. The company is highlighting medium truck and passenger alignment and repair capabilities at the new location.

Rice Tire operates ten stores in Virginia, Maryland and Washington, D.C., servicing a combination of retail, commercial and wholesale customers.

The company serves commercial clients with a retreading plant in Winchester, Va., wholesale tire warehouses in Frederick, Md., and Cumberland, Md., and a fleet of over 70 delivery and emergency road service trucks.
