Radar Tires returns to venue of it's first short course podium

Radar Tires, the flagship brand of Omni United, makes its full season debut in TORC: The Off-Road Championship presented by AMSOIL this weekend during the “Duel in the Desert” at Primm Valley Off-Road Raceway in Primm, Nev.  Armed with three drivers in the PRO Light class, Radar Tires is optimistic about the 2014 TORC season.
 
Radar Tires has selected to use the LT265/75R16 and 32X11.50R15 Radar Renegade R5 tires for the two-day event.  The tires will be used by Project648 Motorsports’ Luke Johnson and Cam Reimers Motorsports co-drivers Cam Reimers and Ian Harris.
 
“We’ve had podium success at Primm last season and we’re looking for more at this weekend’s Duel in the Desert,” said Gary Blalock, Radar Tires Motorsports Manager.  “The Primm track has changed since September, but we think we have the right size and groove in the Radar Renegade R5 tires for Luke, Cam and Ian to be able to charge to the front.  This is Primm and anything can happen in TORC PRO Lights.  We have assembled the right drivers and the ideal tire to withstand the speed, jumps and ever-changing track conditions.”
 
This weekend marks Johnson’s first return to Primm Valley since 2008, and the first time in the PRO Light class.  As a regular fixture on the podium in PRO Buggy, Johnson plans on making regular visits to the box this season.
 
Cam Reimers Motorsports has assembled a one-two punch with drivers Reimers and Harris. Reimers is now in his second year of TORC PRO Light and will drive the No. 21 SSI Decal/TiLube PRO Light. In 2013, Reimers made his debut at Primm and scored two top-10 finishes.  Making his Primm debut this weekend, Harris, co-driver of the sister No. 22 SSI Decal/TiLube PRO Light, looks to repeat and improve upon Reimers’ last season rookie run at Primm.
 
The Radar Tires drivers will practice, qualify and race at the two-day TORC “Duel in the Desert” event.  Fans unable to attend the race at Primm Valley Off-Road Raceway can tune into the Motor Trend YouTube channel for a live broadcast.  The PRO Light race begins at 2:15 p.m. (PT) on Saturday and Sunday.  The race can then be seen on NBC Sports on April 25.
