Four Goodyear-owned outlets open in Toledo

Feb. 7, 2014

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. announced it has increased its retail presence in the Toledo, Ohio, area with the opening of four new Goodyear Auto Service Centers.

Through the acquisition of former Tom’s Tires stores -- three in Toledo and one in Perrysburg – Goodyear says it is taking further steps to provide what consumers want including brand and product choices, a clean and inviting store, and a low-pressure shopping experience with an emphasis on customer service.

Goodyear says its products are available at various independent tire dealerships and other mass retailer locations, but these are the first four Goodyear-owned outlets in the area. There are now 26 company-owned stores in Ohio.

“Goodyear is committed to expanding our retail store format, and the acquisition of these locations is in line with that growth strategy,” says John Peer, vice president, Goodyear Retail.

Each of the four new stores sell Goodyear, Dunlop and Kelly tires, and provide service for cars, pickups, vans and SUVs. In addition to tires, the stores offer a range of automotive services, such as wheel alignment, brake work, exhaust repairs and more. Customers can book online appointments at www.goodyearautoservice.com.

Goodyear says that at the end of 2013 the total number of company-owned stores in the U.S. was 616: 92 Just Tires locations and 524 Goodyear Auto Service Center locations.
