Marangoni SpA, parent company of Marangoni Tread North America, says that its operations in Italy will remain open despite the coronavirus outbreak.
"With reference to the COVID-19 situation and the associated events taking place, we wish to inform you that our company’s activities in Italy are fundamental to support essential services, such as goods and people transportation,” company officials said in a statement released earlier today.
“For this reason, despite the complexity of a situation that is changing all the time, Marangoni is not stopping and is acting with commitment and determination to continue to produce, as permitted by yesterday’s Italian Prime Ministerial Decree. The company will do its best to satisfy our customers' needs while respecting the measures provided by the responsible authorities and complying with the framework of the more stringent measures issued by the Italian government."
The company added it has arranged a "smart/agile" program for employees working remotely.
Marangoni Tread North America sources tread rubber from its own plant in Tennessee.
