TIA's Interactive Map Will Keep Dealers Abreast of State Legislation

Nov. 3, 2017

The Tire Industry Association (TIA) has made it easy to check out legislation affecting tire dealers in each state, thanks to a new “legislative map” on its website, www.tireindustry.org.

Roy Littlefield IV, director of government affairs, outlined the new resource at the 2017 Global Tire Expo in Las Vegas, which runs through Nov. 3. The Global Tire Expo is part of the SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) Show.

In association with LegiNaton Inc. and its BillTrack50 resource, the interactive map will keep users up-to-date on key legislation.

Step 1: Go to TIA’s website, www.tireindustry.org.

Step 2: Click on the website’s “Advocacy” navigation link.

Step 3: Place the cursor over the state in which you are interested, which automatically lets the user know how many bills are being tracked. Then click. All the bills that effect the tire industry will be listed by bill number, progress, last action, action date and name.

If you want more information, click on the bill number, and BillTrack50 will not only give you a summary of the bill – including sponsors – but also action history, voting history and associated documents.

In an official statement, TIA said its main goal in partnering with LegiNation was "to make sure that we remain at the forefront of keeping the industry informed on current key legislation, along with our position on important advocacy issues."
