Treadways Corp. has named longtime industry veteran Barry Blocher vice president of sales and marketing for its Laramie Tire division.
Blocher was regional vice president at Manassas, Va.-based Merchant's Inc. prior to joining Treadways. Merchant's is the seventh largest independent retail tire dealership in North America, based on number of outlets.
Blocher began his career with the former Firestone Tire & Rubber Co. After working at Firestone for 15 years, he joined Merchant’s Inc. in 1988.
His base of operations will be Treadways headquarters in North Wales, Pa. Blocher will report directly to CEO and President Dan Wire.
Treadways markets six tire brands, which account for 3% of the replacement passenger tire market, according to Modern Tire Dealer's 2001 Facts Issue.
