Aug. 29, 2017

The latest tires for forestry applications from Balkrishna Industries Ltd. (BKT) are designed to face the most diverse forestry applications.

The company says strength, resistance, load capacity, stability and some grit to show in the most challenging situations are essential features and prerequisites for operating forestry harvesters, equipment for wood felling and trunk extraction as well as forwarders.

BKT offers four forestry product lines: Forestech, FS 216, TR 678 and F 240. The company says their common feature is extraordinary resistance, which stands for an extended tire lifecycle thanks to less replacements and machine downtime. The results are both environmental and economic advantages.

BKT says Forestech has exceptional strength and resistance even under the toughest operating conditions. Its sturdy bead and the reinforced shoulder area ensure high puncture resistance. These features and outstanding traction make Forestech the ideal tire for forwarders. It is available on the market in three sizes: 600/55 – 26.5, 710/45 – 26.5 and 750/55 – 26.5. More information is on the Forestech product page on the company’s website.

The FS 216 has extraordinary cut and tear resistance to make it the perfect tire for forwarders and for skidders, according to BKT. Durability, a reinforced tread and high puncture resistance are its strengths. Excellent traction, top self-cleaning properties and high load capacity complete the picture of this tire, which is available in eight sizes in steel-belted or aramid-belted versions: 18.4 – 26, 23.1 – 26; 28L – 26, 18.4 – 30, 24.5 – 32, 30.5L – 32, DH 35.5L – 32 and 18.4 – 34. More information is on the FS 216 product page on the company’s website.

The TR 678 is designed for forestry harvesters. The company says it joins the previous two patterns in terms of strength and resistance. It is a very versatile tire, which is also suitable for excavation operations, and presents best self-cleaning properties in addition to excellent traction. Two are the sizes available: 600/65 – 34 and 700/55 – 34.  More information is on the TR 678 product page on the company’s website.

The F 240 is the latest addition to BKT’s forestry tires and is specifically designed for logging operations. Excellent traction, outstanding self-cleaning properties and exceptional maneuverability are some of its main features. BKT says the special and superior tread compound ensures an extended product life-cycle along with cut, wear and tear resistance. The large footprint increases and improves stability on the terrain. F 240 is available in two versions: 18 – 15.5 and 400 – 15.5. More information is on the F 240 product page on the company’s website.
