Marangoni Is Expanding Retread Production for 2019

Dec. 20, 2018

Marangoni Tread North America Inc. is expanding its Tennessee production facility following a year of increased unit sales and growing demand for the XP Extreme Performance line.

Bill Sweatman, CEO and president, says work to expand the plant is underway. The company is adding a production line to manufacture the XP Extreme Performance wide-base Ringtread. The new production line is expected to be operating in the second quarter of 2019. It will produce Ringtreads up to and including 500mm widths.

“With unit sales up this year, production had to be increased right away," says Sweatman. "Independent retreaders’ business remains strong and we expect demand to continue to increase as we move into 2019."

“Our primary goal, every day, is to provide our customers with the best in class products at the time they need them," says Chanthavy Vongsamphanh, vice president of operations for Marangoni. "This expansion will allow us to optimize our already successful demand driven inventory system and we will be expanding our workforce by 10%, thus creating more American jobs!”

Marangoni says its U.S. production and distribution from a central location gives the company "a competitive advantage against competitors importing products into the U.S."
