It's Time for Students to Apply for the Michelin/TIA Scholarship

Michelin North America Inc. is accepting applications for the 2019-2020 scholarship it offers to students associated with the Tire Industry Association (TIA). The company will award three renewable scholarships for tuition, books and fees.

Applicants must be part-time employees or the dependent children of full-time employees of TIA member tire dealers. Dependent children include natural children, adopted children, legal wards or resident stepchildren. The employee must be employed by the firm at the time of application. (Michelin families are not eligible.)

Applicants must be high school seniors planning to pursue a post-secondary education at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university or vocational technical school. Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale through the Spring 2018 term. Scholarship recipients must be full-time students each semester, and be working toward an undergraduate degree.

Michelin and TIA will award a total of $6,250 in new scholarships. One $3,000 award (not to exceed $12,000 over four years) and two $1,625 awards (not to exceed $6,500 over four years).

The deadline to submit the online portion of the application is Jan. 31, 2019. (www.scholarshipprograms.org/mtia) The deadline for receipt of the additional required materials is 5 pm EST on Jan. 31, 2019.

The Michelin/TIA Scholarship has been awarded every year since 2000, and since its inception, more than $256,000 has been awarded to 55 recipients.
